Select Investigations has been in the business of solving problems for our clients since 1995. Our clients include businesses, institutions, and individuals. Our operations continuously evolve to meet the needs of our clients and to incorporate advances in available technology. In every sense, our clients define our business.

We perform lawful investigations for businesses, individuals and attorneys. We are insured and licensed in North Carolina and meet the requirements set forth the North Carolina General Statue 74C. North Carolina has reciprocity with a number of other states allowing us to legally conduct investigations in those locations.

Select has an established network of investigators throughout the United States and many foreign countries. In one instance, a case began in North Carolina, required investigative services in multiple other states and three foreign countries on two continents. We used in-house investigators as well as resources around the world to complete that case. We do not rely on unknown entities to perform critical tasks. We will travel, interview, and retain licensed investigators in a location if we do not have experience with someone in that area. Like most investigative businesses, we are not large enough to provide world wide services in-house, but we will always carefully manage and take the lead in your case regardless of the locations involved.

One of our partners has traveled to dozens of foreign countries and more than 45 of our 50 states. He has developed contacts and resources in many states and European countries, South and Central America, Canada, Mexico, most of the Caribbean Islands, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Pacific Rim. His knowledge, contacts and cultural awareness has paid enormous dividends for our clients in situations that required multi-state or international investigative tasks.

Often, actual experience in much of the world and the US is critical to insure evidence is obtained and developed legally, by licensed local investigators, chain of custody preserved, and is acceptable in a North Carolina legal proceeding. Knowledge of your case, using the right investigator in a remote location, and working with your attorney is fundamental to success.

We accept cases that originate in North Carolina or require investigative work in North Carolina or states that have reciprocity agreements with North Carolina. Many of those clients are located outside of North Carolina. In certain instances we will agree to manage a case for a client that involves investigative services in locations where we are not licensed to perform those services. In those instances, we will use our experience and resources to manage those efforts on behalf of the client as a consultant, but will not conduct the actual work outside the scope of our license limitations. We never accept a case and “broker it” to an investigator in or out of our area. We have never paid or received a “commission” involving a referral from or to us.

We occasionally use subcontract investigators when we need additional resources. We have a close network of investigators we call on that have experience working with us and have proved they meet our standards. In every instance, we are actively involved in your case managing and supervising every aspect.
