Whether to initiate an investigation is a question with several considerations. Cost is certainly one of them. It's impossible for any investigator to predict the exact cost of an investigation because each one is unique and has characteristics of it's own. canned services at a fixed cost are misleading.

Those investigations are based on a fixed amount of hours and expenses. If your case requires less, you over pay. If your case requires more, the investigation stops before completion. In both instances you will be disappointed.

We will tell you what the cost range of similar investigations has been and agree in writing on a “not to exceed” cost. You will have a realistic idea what our experience has been. In some instances, an investigation can take a path you, nor we, anticipate. In those instances, we will revisit the costs involved with you in detail. You will make the final decision and there will be no last minute surprises.

We require a written contract and a retainer to initiate an investigation. The amount of the retainer is determined, in part, by what we believe the cost range is of your case. In some instances the retainer is non-refundable. We manage our work load carefully and will decline new cases if the time we set aside for you would be a problem. As we deplete the retainer, we may require additional payments determined by how the case is developing and what we anticipate remains to be done.
