Our hands-on experience in the US Patent and Trademark Office, Customs, international field investigations, and litigation support is extensive. We provide the information and evidence to our clients to enhance contract negotiations and sales, to facilitate identification and seizure of counterfeit and gray market goods, or to employ in litigation.

One of our partners has 16 years specializing in IP investigations. As the former Director of Intellectual Property Asset Protection (IPAP) for an international IP investigation agency, he was responsible for enforcement of IP rights for several Fortune 500 companies, and a number of others, worldwide. He was responsible for the worldwide retrieval of intelligence, information, and enforcement, with emphasis on Asia, Europe, Canada, and the Americas (Central, South and North).

We can identify and locate a factory or manufacturing location anywhere in the world. Our experience working with local law enforcement and counsel has shut down operations, cutting off the flow of illegal and infringing goods at the source. Intelligence gathered during the course of a facility raid or seizure action, such as the number of goods manufactured and sold prior to seizure, has yielded the information needed to obtain a judgment and criminal prosecution of a skilled defendant.

We also have a partner with 15 years experience in banking and finance. Her experience spans fraud, embezzlement, kiting, and international money transfers. Her experience is particularly valuable in locating and tracing assets and proceeds resulting from intellectual property crimes; assets that may be available to our client when a judgment is executed.

Our forensic nurse has been an RN for 30 years and a licensed private investigator for 10 years. Her medical background and investigative experience gives us a unique combination of talent that sets us apart in pharmaceutical cases.

Scheduled monitoring of the Internet, in both public and members-only areas is critical in today’s environment. Trading and merchandising forums for the use, sale, and other illegal activity regarding client trademarks or patents are prolific. Virtually all luxury, pharmaceutical, and trademarked merchandise is available on the Internet illegally. Counterfeiting, diversion, and infringing are unfettered without proactive intervention. We can often determine the actual source of the goods and aid the client in filing civil and/ or criminal complaints as well as coordinating any enforcement action. In one instance more than 750,000 counterfeit items for one client were removed from a dozen auction and trade Internet sites in one year.
